Research data for manuscript "Resource-efficient fibre-integrated temporal multiplexing of heralded single photons". The raw data were collected using home-built single photon coincidence counting electronics programmed in a field-programmable gate array. The number of photon pairs detected were measured as a function of laser pump power, with and without the loop multiplexing protocol active.

<collection_method>Photon counting data collected using a home-built field-programmable gate array based counting system; the raw and analysed data are stored in Matlab workspace variables. Datasets are included for coincidence counting experiments, with and without the loop multiplexing protocol active.</collection_method>
<provenance>The data were processed in MATLAB R2016b according to the included .m script. The data are stored as a .mat file. Variable names are detailed as commented in the accompanying .m script. Variable names ending in 'n' refer to data collected without the multiplexing protocol active indicating "no loop present". Variable names ending in 'l' refer to data collected with the multiplexing protocol active indicating "loop present".</provenance>
