Introduction and Overview of the data archive for journal paper "The ABC model of recombination reinterpreted: impact on understanding carrier transport and efficiency droop in InGaN/GaN light emitting diodes" published in the Journal of Applied Physics, volume 122, as article #234505, DOI 10.1063/1.4986434. This archive comprises three Excel files containing the raw data obtained from measurements of the optical power emitted from the light emitting diodes (LEDs) (hereafter denoted by the symbol "L") described in the above paper for a range of applied forward bias currents (hereafter denoted by the symbol "I"), all measured at room temperature. The data files also contain graphs of L against I, hereafter denoted "L-I curves". The data falls into two sub-categories: 1. the raw measured data presented in figures 2, 3 and 4 of the above published research paper, and 2. the raw measured data and graphs of L against I from which the results presented in figures 5(a), 5(b) and 5(c) were derived by fitting results to equations (4a), (4b) and (4c). Excel files "2 LIV 3 to 15 QWs before and after ..." and "LIV 3 to 15 QWs plus Ni2 ..." are organised as follows: - Sheet 1 lists the sample numbers identified by their growth run number and by the number of quantum wells (QWs) in the LED structure. - Sheet 2 of these Excel files consists of graphical summaries of the L-I curves for all the samples specified on sheet 1. - The following sheets of these Excel files list the numerical values of the measured (L,I) data on a sample per page basis, with each page including graphs of the L-I curves. Excel file "6.2 C6010 to 20 ..." is organised slightly differently. Its organisation is as follows: - Sheet 1 lists the sample numbers identified by their growth run number and by the number of quantum wells (QWs) in the LED structure. - Sheet 2 is titled "ABC" and contains both graphical and numerical data derived from curve fitting the measured L-I curves to equations (4a), (4b) and (4c) obtained from all the LEDs measured on each of the 5 different LED structures considered. - Sheet 3 consists of graphical summaries of the L-I curves for all the samples specified on sheet 1. - The following sheets of these Excel files list the numerical values of the measured (L,I) data on a sample per page basis, with each page including graphs of the L-I curves. Whilst Excel file "6.2 C6010 to 20 ..." forms the most complete data set, it should be viewed in conjunction with the other two, which complement Excel file "6.2 C6010 to 20 ...".
