Scope

The Archive accepts the following types of content:

  • Datasets
  • Multimedia and audio-visual materials

  • Other special item types underpinning research findings

The Archive does not accept preprints or postprints of academic papers or monographs submitted for publication.

Access to and use of collections

Access to some or all full items is controlled.

All full items are individually tagged with differing rights, permissions and conditions.

Version control

All full items are tagged with their version number and their official date of release.

Submissions

Full details of the terms under which items are deposited in the Archive may be found in our Data Deposit Agreement. What follows is a summary of the key points.

  • Items may only be deposited by academic staff, and registered students of the institution, or their delegated agents.
  • The administrator only vets items for the eligibility of authors/depositors, relevance to the scope of the repository, and the exclusion of spam.
  • The validity and authenticity of the content of submissions is the sole responsibility of the depositor.
  • Items can be deposited at any time, but will not be made publicly visible until any publishers‘ or funders‘ embargo period has expired.
  • Any copyright violations are entirely the responsibility of the creators/depositors.
  • If the repository receives proof of copyright violation, the relevant item will be removed immediately pending an agreed solution. The takedown procedure is given below.

Takedown procedure

If you believe any of the data in the Archive breaches your intellectual property or other rights, please send the following details to the Archive team:

  1. your name and contact details;
  2. the title and ID/URL of the dataset containing the material;
  3. the reason for the complaint and evidence supporting it.

You can contact the Archive team by email at research-data@bath.ac.uk or by post at Research Services, The Library, University of Bath, Bath BA2 7AY.

The item will be temporarily removed from the Archive while we investigate the complaint. If the complaint is upheld and the data withdrawn, we reserve the right to maintain a metadata record of the dataset.
